The Royal Netherlands Navy operates four guided missile carrying frigates.

To provide these ships the capabilities to protect against different threats, they will be upgraded with the best of the best equipment.The bridge and technical rooms will be renewed, but also the radar will be replaced by the new SMART-L. The applied high-end techniques result in a radar with an unrivalled long range performance of 2000 km.
