Dutch YES, Young Employee Society visits ‘Trójmiasto’
The destination of the annual study trip of the Dutch Young Employee Society (YES) was this year Poland. 29 enthusiastic members went to Poland’s most important port city, Gdansk. Gdansk is a beautiful, historical city. Together with adjoining cities as Gdynia and Sopot, it is called Trójmiasto, literally translated as three city. Dutch colleague Peter Havenga worked for Thales in Gdyania. In 2008 he stayed for six months and he knows his way around. For the YES population Peter organized a city tour with special attention to the military history.
Company visit to Radmor
The
group was welcome at Radmor in Gdynia, a company that develops mainly radios
and radiotelephones that are delivered
to customers from Poland and abroad. Radmor’s customers are: army, police, fire
brigades, civil guards, border guards, penitentiary services, national forestry
and others. Radmor is very proud to have an agreement with Thales, so it may produce
under license radio equipment for Thales. (www.radmor.com)
A company presentation and a tour factory were part of the two-hour program.
Balt Military Expo
The young professionals also paid a visit to the 14th edition of the BALT-MILITARY-EXPO Baltic Military Fair in Gdansk. BME is held in close partnership with Poland’s General Command of Branches of Armed Forces Inspectorate for the Navy. It focuses on maritime safety and security, the latest defense systems, sea and land rescue and is dedicated to the Polish Navy, to other types of armed forces and to the services subject to Poland’s Ministry of Interior.
At the stand of Thales the YES group met with our Vice President Sales, Olivier Conrosier. He explained Thales’ naval strategy in Poland. Questions? Contact the board of the Dutch Young Employee Society by sending an e-mail to: yes_bestuur@nl.thalesgroup.com
