Water, hygiene boxes, building materials, rice, blankets and tarpuilins. Since the beginning of the deployment of the Zr. Ms. Holland and Zr. Ms. Pelikaan the ships have transported 450 tons of helping goods to the shore of Haiti. You can see here how that went.

Marines protect 200th merchant ship

By the end of last month 2 foreign merchant ships were attacked, 1 at Somalia, the other between Jemen and Djibouti. This easily could have been the heavy transport ship the Red Sea II. However, at that time there were marines on board to protect it from piracy between Egypt and Sri Lanka. The ship arrived the day before yesterday and marked the 200th time Dutch marines protected a merchant ship. And still it is not an unnecessary luxury.
