Thales helps Dutch Police with battle against Covid19-virus
Thales is in close cooperation with the Dutch Police, to support crisis management during the Covid19-virus outbreak. The police has the responsibility to facilitate the information datastream from the different emergency rooms to the crisis centers. These centers advise about the coordination of the mission.
The Corona outbreak has a huge impact on the daily lives in the Netherhands. Because of this, there is an increased need for a common shared picture between emergency services and other organisations. Every piece of information that is direct or indirect connected to the Covid19-virus and send to the Ducth police, the security region, or one of the cooperating partners will be composed in one interface.
Not only health care information, but also information about the social economic situation will be processed in a secure manner. By collecting all relevant information and make it available in the command and control room, people can think smarter and act faster. The cooperation between the emergency services is optimized then, which will increase the efficiency of the coordination.
Thales has also been asked by the Dutch Police to facilitate and secure the digital datastream between emergency services during the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam this year. Unfortunately, this event has been postponed. But the knowledge that was gained during the preparations of the Contest and other events (e.g. the Tour de France Grand Départ) will be applied during the current challenge of supporting the crisis management of the Covid19-virus.
