Stefan Warmerdam: 'Refreshing my career'

August 09, 2018

'Introducing' is a part in the Thales Connect app in which new colleagues introduce themselves to you. This time you read more about Stefan Warmerdam, Service Operator.

Who are you and what is your new job about?

I am Stefan Warmerdam, I am 40 years old and I live in Almere. I started on August 1 as Service Operator for the new Thales Unica NOC. I will be part of the team that will manage and monitor the system functionally.

What did you do before Thales?

Before Thales I worked at DTN in Culemborg, a system integrator for meteorological systems for aviation. In my role as Customer Service Engineer I was involved in upgrades, maintenance and mainly failures for European customers. I was able to do this work mainly from the office and, if necessary, on-site.

Why did you choose Thales?

I already know Thales from previous jobs and as a technologically advanced company, it fits perfectly with my search for a new career.

The system, function and method are new to both Thales and me and I see it as a big challenge.

How will the first months look like for you?

The first months it will mainly be pioneering. The system is still under development and number of issues are not clear yet. We will only be able to learn a large part once the system is operational and we can really start working with it.

What is your ambition in Thales?

The first period I will be busy using the system and the possible monitoring of other systems. I hope to be able to develop myself in the coming years in technical management and project management.
