Remko Kooreman: 'Great to experience how Thales works'

'Introducing' is a part in the Thales Connect app in which new colleagues introduce themselves to you. This time you read more about Remko Kooreman, Contractor.

Who are you and what is your new job about?

My name is Remko Kooreman, I live together in Borne with Debbie and our three children Sienne (12), Yinthe (6) and Odin (8). In my spare time I am a coach of Yinthes football team and I read regularly on my e-reader. Previously, I had more than 1000 books. After 15 years my girlfriend was tired of all the books and I tried to sell them. Eventually I got no less than 200 Euro for it. It maybe was better to invest in the bitcoin.

I am hired to support the Financial Control department in the coming six months.

What did you do before Thales?

Before Thales I worked as a project controller at FrieslandCampina. This was a project of 80 million euros and lasted for five years. We had the necessary setbacks such as a bankruptcy of a supplier and totally unexpected automation costs. Despite all this, the new factory is now in full swing.

Why did you choose Thales?

I work for Yacht and they contacted me for this assignment. From my youth in Hengelo I still know Holland Signaal. This and the assignment gave me a good feeling.

How will the first months look like for you?

In the coming period I will deal with three issues:

• Support with the MYB (Multi Year Budget).

• Develop standard reports in accordance with Naval for the other business units.

• Make an upload according to Naval so that the financial figures do not have to be manually added.

What is your ambition in Thales?

I think it is wonderful that, through this assignment, I can experience how work is done within Thales. If works for both sides, I see employment at Thales, certainly as one of the possibilities.
