“I like variety, I don't want to sit still all day long”

September 07, 2016

Inge Doeleman is in Atheneum 4 of the Meander College in Zwolle. Two more years and then the student life will follow. But which study do you choose and what does that mean for your career? As an introduction to the working life Inge went on a one-day-internship at Thales.

What did you expect?

"I thought that Thales was a company in the marketing and management sector. I had no idea that Thales makes radars and I was not quite sure what people do all day in such an office. Now I have seen that the company does much more than marketing and management, and that it is very much about technique and ensuring a safer world."

My hobbies are singing, playing cello, horse riding, skiing, doing fun stuff with friends and a lot more. I would definitely recommend others to do a one-day-internship at Thales, you quickly meet people with different backgrounds and jobs, in technique, as well as in more commercial professions there are job opportunities at Thales.

Will you choose a technical study?

"What I look for in a later job is variety, I don't want to do exactly the same work every day.I like variety and do not want to sit still all day. Maybe I choose technique, but at the moment I think I choose health care. But for sure I've seen at Thales what you can do with a technical background."
