Help TIRIS win the 2019 RailTech Award!

Rail Tech Europe 2019 will take place at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht from 26 to 28 March. This international event is the place to be for the latest innovations in railwaytraffic. Thales Digital Services is also present at this three-day event. We are not only there to share our latest innovations, but also because we have been nominated for an Innovation Award.

Henk Schomaker of Thales Digital Services in the Netherlands says: "Digitization is also increasing in railway traffic. This also means that the data from all critical “infrastructure assets” such as rails, axle counters, crossings, is increasing.

Thanks to our extensive knowledge and experience, we are able to provide a forecast of which assets will fail and when. We use Big Data (real time and historical) among other things to do this. The aim is to reduce the total costs for maintenance, but more importantly, to keep the railway traffic available for the trains, freight transport and of course the traveler. The name of this Digital Platform is TIRIS and we have been nominated for this in the Infrastructure category.
