Goalkeeper engineers wanted!

January 30, 2018

Who does not know this system? One of the most iconic systems from Thales NL!

Goalkeeper is a close-in weapon system (CIWS)

An autonomous and automatic weapon system that formes the last line of defense of the ship. Goalkeeper is a very complex system and although developed in the 80's, it is still a special piece of technology! Various technical disciplines come together: mechanical, electrical, high voltage, RF, radar, cooling, software etc. In the past few years Thales and the custumor worked togheter on Upkeep: a modernisation program of Goalkeeper. With the Upkeep Goalkeeper has become a combination of old and new technologies.

We are looking for more people in the Goalkeeper team

In addition to the Dutch navy, the Navies Belgium, Portugal, Chile, Peru, Qatar, UAE and South Korea also use Goalkeepers. Some of these Navies expressed an interest to modernise their Goalkeepers wich will result in a lot of work for us.

Are you hands-on, technically brilliant and do you want to work on one of the most complex systems of Thales?

Come and work at the Goalkeeper Test Team!
