Experiencing the thrill of Cybersecurity
Last Saturday, during the open doors days at our headquarters in The Netherlands, Thales has launched its latest interactive serious game: the Cyber Escape Room. After this trial run, the Cyber Escape Room is now ready for the big league: the international Cyber Security Week (CSW) in The Hague, The Netherlands.
During this week dozens of events will provide the opportunity to meet key players, discuss the latest developments, share knowledge and pitch innovative ideas for funding. The CSW is powered by The Hague Security Delta, the leading security cluster in Europe. The first day of the CSW, Monday 25 September, will be dedicated to spark the interest of youngsters for the field of cyber security. Several events will be organized, including the Thales Cyber Escape Room. On Wednesday 27 September the Cyber Escape Room will be presented to a more business-oriented audience to enhance cybersecurity awareness. This will all take place during a network reception at the City Hall of The Hague.
Unique story
With the Cyber Escape Room, Thales is able to give participants a total cyber experience. Starting with a pre-registration, people are given the opportunity to earn a head start. This means that they are dared to test their knowledge by answering two questions about the Dutch cybersecurity offering. If they answer correctly, they receive a somewhat cryptic clue which might just give them the edge.
The real adventure starts of course as soon as the team enters the Cyber Escape Room. The team’s mission? Stop a hacker who has infiltrated into computer systems in order to prevent the world from disaster. Is the team able to unlock the code within 10 minutes, by solving the puzzles? On 25 September, the price that teams will compete for will be a first class tour at our Thales headquarters in The Netherlands, including a free cyber workshop and priority for an internship or thesis at Thales. On 27 September, the winning team will be invited on a date to be fixed, in a first class restaurant for an exclusive diner with Gerben Edelijn, the CEO of Thales and René van Buuren, Cybersecurity Director at Thales.
With the Cyber Escape Room Thales is able to tell its unique cybersecurity story, whilst giving customers the rush of an escape room. Collaboration, excitement, euphoria and relief guaranteed!
